For those that have been using covers for a while, or those who are starting, what are you expectations of the cover crop for soil health. What do you want to happen to the soil condition?

    Matt and others,

We currently have about 20 various cover crops varieties planted in a small trails location. planted I believe mid to late may. about 15 foot rows at 22″ spacing. Cowpeas, lupines, fava beans, radishes, vetches, soybeans, mustards, mung beans, etc. They goal was to look at phenotype expression under north cenral irrigated sandy soils. We would be happy to share some our initial anecdotal impressions.

So, it looks like your goal is soil coverage, plant diversity, and maybe some N crediting. Yes – let’s talk more on this. Very interesting.
