I grew up in SE WI on a small part time grain and cow-calf farm. After graduating from UW Madison in 1990 I began renting crop ground and began crop consulting. Over time my wife Tracey and I started our own crop consulting business and have been growing the farm enterprise. We have 2 high school age daughters that love every aspect of agriculture and see a bright future for themselves in it.
The growth of our farm has come from raising high value crops like pumpkins and winter squash. In addition we grow corn and soybeans in continual notill or strip till environments and incorporate cover crops on 50-80% of our acres depending on the year.
Our crop consulting business means being involved in nutrient management on all acres including working with 3 CAFO’s. It is a full service business that includes crop scouting throughout the growing season.
